Update (9/18/20): The Oneida county Sheriff's office has identified the passenger who died in the crash.
Carol Brown, 76, of Tomahawk died while being airlifted to the hospital.
The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the crash.
Original Story (9/17/20): One person is dead after crash on Highway 8 Thursday afternoon.
The Oneida County Sherriff’s Office said two cars crashed head on near the intersection of Hwy 8 and County Hwy N.
Deputies found several people with injuries. The drivers of both cars were taken to the hospital by ambulance. One passenger was airlifted to a hospital. That person died on the way. The name is not being released at this time.
As of 3:00 p.m. on Thursday Hwy 8 is still closed between Rhinelander and Hwy 51. Traffic is being detoured on County Hwy K.
