Oneida County 4-H Seeking Adult Volunteers

Oneida County 4-H

Oneida County 4-H is looking for some adults willing to volunteer their time.

4-H teaches kids and teens a wide-range of skills to help expand their interests and get involved in their community.

Program Coordinator Anne Williams says adults are a huge part of that.

“You may not think spending on hour of your time once a week or once a month or just a few times of year makes a difference, but it does. Our adult volunteers can have children and teens learn knew things, building confidence, and become leaders,” said Williams.

To qualify, you need to be at least 18 years old. 4-H provides you with all the training you need.

“You don’t have to be an expert. You don’t have to be a top-level career position. Maybe you’re a student taking online classes in college and looking for some experience to add to your resume. We had another adult volunteer in her late 70s spend about 30 minutes with young children who are learning how to bake cookies through a 4-H program offered online,” said Williams.

Williams says there are varying levels in which you can get involved depending on your availability.

There are some upcoming training sessions. You can register for them here. Interested adults can also call 715-365-2750 or email apwilliams@wisc.edu to register.
