Oneida County Fair Needs Volunteers, Sponsors

Oneida County Fair

Though the Oneida County Fair is months away, plans are in motion and they need volunteers.

New fair coordinator Tom Barnett says volunteers and donors make the fair happen...

"...right now we're at the stage where we're trying to find volunteers, all sorts of different ways to raise money with sponsorships for the fair. Without the sponsorships in the community and without people volunteering then the fair doesn't happen on it's own. That's why we need a lot of help right now...."

Barnett says there are a variety of things a volunteer can do...

"...we need people to drive to and from the parking lot. We need people with setup, putting up tents and everything, If you've never helped before there's always someone who has helped for years. People of all ages, all makes and models are very welcome to volunteer because we need the help....."

Barnett says he's been helped by former coordinator Nancy Gehrig and it appears that the fair is on track for the event. He says they will have an act this year that is familiar to Rhinelander. Miller and Mike, a family comedy group from Appleton are set to appear, along with Paisley Craze, a 60's revival band, and there will be a Cajun night with Chef Tom from CT's Deli.

Barnett says they are looking for local business sponsorships.

The fair is August 2-5 at Pioneer Park in Rhinelander. More information is online at oneidacountyfairwi. com or email Barnett directly at ocfaircor@hotmail.com
