The Forest County District Attorney has filed charges of battery and disorderly conduct against a tribal official with the Forest County Potawatomi.

Witnesses tell authorities the vice chair of the tribe had to be restrained to keep him from physically attacking another tribal official last month. Treasurer Joe Daniels, Sr. is scheduled to make a court appearance May 22nd.

Witnesses say he swore at, threatened and later charged at Tribal Secretary James Crawford and other executive council members during a meeting last month.
