RAFP To Host Food Giveaway Wednesday With No Income Restrictions

Rhinelander Area Food Pantry

A special shipment of food will enable the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry to distribute food to anyone this Wednesday. The food giveaway will be the first of three on consecutive weeks, says Pantry Executive Director Guy Hansen...

"This week we'll be getting it Wednesday at about 10:30 a.m. We'll be distributing it to anybody that wants to come and get it. There's no restrictions whatsoever on the food(distribution). This week it will be meat, produce and dairy..."

Hansen says they're asking people to enter the parking lot from Carr Street, pick up the box and exit on Coon Street. The pickup goes until the food is gone. Hansen says they will be continuing to distribute the boxes as they have during the COVID-19 pandemic...

"We'll maintain social distancing so we'll ask people to drive up with space in their trunk so we can put the box in there. If there isn't space, we'll ask them to put it in their car themselves..."

Hansen says any individual, regardless of income, can come to the food pantry to receive a free box of food. This box is not considered a visit to the pantry by participants.

Other distributions are planned for June 10th and 17th. More information is on the Rhinelander Area Food Pantry website and Facebook pages.
