Restaurant Survey Finds Desire to Improve Rhinelander Dining Scene

en.wikipedia.org

Rhinelander restaurants may need better lighting and fresher food.  Those are some of the suggestions coming out of a restaurant survey done by UW Extension and Downtown Rhinelander Inc.

Oneida County Community Resource and Development Agent Tim Brown says researchers conducted focus groups with both older and younger adults…to see how age might dictate restaurant preferences.

“There were certain things that both groups didn’t like about restaurants in Rhinelander. One thing was lighting. Both older and younger groups think that many of the restaurants in Rhinelander are just too dark, not enough natural light.”

Many people also expressed an interest in outdoor or waterfront dining options.

Brown says the age groups did tend to differ on other points, with younger people wanting more locally sourced food and a friendlier atmosphere…and older people being happy with the social feeling but wanting better building maintenance.

Brown says a list of suggestions resulting from the research will be passed on to interested businesses.
