After a year of little to no major events, communities are excited to welcome people back.

As the number of cases level off and more people get vaccinated, local communities are excited to bring back these events.

Rhinelander’s 4th of July Parade theme this year is ‘Remember: United We Stand’, according to parade chairman Dale Schlieve.

“We think the word remember is a very important word. United We Stand, we didn’t stand together in the past few years, couple years and that. So my wife and I thought let’s put the word remember, remember united we stand. People got to get together,” said Schlieve.

The parade will be on the 4th of July Holiday.

The Lions Kiddie Parade starts at 10:00 with the main parade at 11:00.

Schlieve said there will be four marching bands in this year’s parade.

“We do have four quality marching band. We’re very excited about that. We do have one new marching band. It complied nine high schools together from Wausau up to Three Lakes. They’ll be represented by 100 students in the parade,” said Schlieve.

They’re still looking for businesses and organizations that want to be part of the parade.

You can reach out to the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce for an application.
