Rhinelander Hospital Employee Arrested After Police Find Video of Patient Taken Without Consent

Oneida County Sheriff's Office

An Ascension-St. Mary’s Hospital employee is being charged after police found a video of a patient taken without their consent.

Evan Sheedy, 31, of Three Lakes was arrested Tuesday. The Oneida County Sheriff’s Office was serving a search warrant based on a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Police didn’t find any child pornography, but they did find the single video of the patient. The patient was an adult and has been notified.

Sheedy is facing a charge of capturing a representation of nudity without consent of the person. He has his first court appearance Wednesday afternoon.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation is ongoing. If they find any other videos of patients, those people will be notified.

In a statement released Wednesday morning, Ascension said it's working with authorities to address the situation.

“Matters of patient safety and security are our highest priority and we have launched an internal investigation and are fully cooperating with authorities," the statement said. "Until the investigation is complete, the associate is suspended from all work duties.”
