Sugar Camp Man Enters Guilty Plea In Death Of St. Germain Man

Jeffrey Liebscher will find out his fate on April 20th when he is sentenced in Oneida County Circuit Court on one count of felony hit and run resulting in death.

The 53- year- old Sugar Camp man appeared before Judge Patrick O'Melia Friday and entered a guilty plea to the felony charge. Another felony count, homicide by negligent operation of a motor vehicle, was dismissed on motion by District Attorney Michael Schiek.

Judge O'Melia ordered a presentence report due April 3. Jeffrey Liebscher will be sentenced on April 20.

Liebscher was charged after the hitting and killing 23-year-old Sean J. Holtslander of St. Germain, who was on his motorcycle on Highway 17 north at approximately 10:15 p.m. Aug. 28 last year. Liebscher allegedly then got into his truck and fled the scene and didn’t contact authorities until hours later, according to the criminal complaint.

The maximum sentence for the one charge on which he entered a plea is a fine of $100,000 and 25 years in prison.
