Three Lakes Fire Department Gets A Commendation From Gov. Evers

Tony Hallman

The Three Lakes downtown area experienced a massive fire on March 4, 2019 that burned the Oneida Village Inn Restaurant and Motel. Tony Hallman, past Town Clerk and Town Supervisor thought  “if it had not been for the professionalism and courage of the Three Lakes Volunteer Fire Department and Fire Chief David Kirby, we could have lost a good portion of our Town”.

Hallman contacted Governor Tony Evers office to see if they could recognize this work. The Governor’s office provided a Certificate of Commendation to Three Lakes Fire Chief David Kirby. Hallman presented the Certificate, signed by Governor Evers to Chief Kirby on May 8, 2019 at the Three Lakes Fire Station.

The Certificate also recognizes The Sugar Camp Fire Department, Eagle River Area Fire Department, Newbold Fire Department, Pelican Fire Department, Pine Lake Fire Department, Stella Fire Department, Oneida County Ambulance Medic 8 and Oneida County Ambulance Medic 10, and Oneida County Emergency Management who all responded to assist. The Certificate concludes, “Therefore, I Tony Evers, Governor of the State of Wisconsin, do hereby commend Fire Chief David Kirby and the Three Lakes Volunteer Fire Department for their exemplary service to their community”.
