United Way Needs A Final Push Of Donations To Reach Goal

Wikimedia Commons

It's the final stretch for the Northwoods United Way fund drive and a spokesperson says a few more dollars could put them over the top.

Executive Director Nancy Sattler says there's still time to contribute...

"...We're still short of our goal this year. Our goal is $165,000 and we're at 85 percent of that goal. We have about two weeks left for people to continue to give and have it count towards the 2018 campaign. I'm still hopeful that some businesses have not turned in their pledge forms and maybe some people just haven't gotten around to it yet...."

Sattler says contributions to them support a number of agencies in Oneida, Vilas and Forest counties...

"When you give to us you are giving to 26 other agencies within the community, not just one agency..."

Northwoods United Way began the drive last October. United Way supports organizations that can show they can provide one of the three human service building blocks: providing basic needs, promoting health or they work to strengthen youth and families. Each year the volunteer board of directors interviews all applications for funding then determines if and how much money each agency will receive.

To make a donation or for more information Sattler says to go to the Northwoods United Way website at northwoodsunitedway.org, or they can send a check to P.O. Box 177 Rhinelander. Sattler says she will drive to a location to pick up a donation.
