Further investigation by Rhinelander Police has found the incident at the Rodeway Inn Tuesday night was NOT a hostage incident and an arrest was made.

Police were called about 5:30 p.m. after a woman told dispatchers she was being held hostage. She told police that night that she was being held against her will. When police arrived, the woman got out of the room, she told police she allegedly had hit a 33-year-old man with a liquor bottle.

The Sheriff's Department Special Response Team was called and the incident was over without injuries.

Rhinelander Police report Wednesday afternoon the story told by the 20-year-old woman was allegedly fabricated. They report there was a relationship between the two. They report alcohol contributed to the incident.

After talking to the woman, Rhinelander Police report they will be referring charges against the her  for obstructing, disorderly conduct and underage consumption of alcohol.

They report NO  charges will be recommended against the man in the incident.

Police say the entire incident appears to have been fabricated.
