A tribal spokesperson supports a Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel editorial last weekend asking Governor Walker to make a decision soon on a new $800 million casino complex in Kenosha county. The Menominee Nation is requesting a new casino be built at the former Dairyland Greyhound Park. While nine Wisconsin tribes back the proposal, two do not: the Ho-Chunk tribe and the Forest County Potawatomi Community. Both tribes have gambling facilities off reservation.

The state Senate has approved a 504-million state tax cut package..

After about three hours of debate, the Senate passed the amended version of Governor Scott Walker's tax cut plan, on a 17-15 vote, with Republican Senator Dale Schultz joining Democrats on the vote.

Last week in Rhinelander, Walker told reporters he thinks everyone would get some tax benefits...

"....property taxes on a medium-value home in this state would go down by over $100. They would be lower than December of 2010...."

Governor Scott Walker says the controversy surrounding his top aides while he was Milwaukee County Executive isn't applicable now because...he says....they aren't around anymore.

Walker says the current administrative team is effective....

"...a handful of people who no longer work with me who are out of the way of state government right now. Instead, the people I have around me are helping us to provide the largest sector job growth we've had in April through December last year...."
