Clambake Society Fundraising For RHS Scholarship

en.wikipedia.org

A group Rhinelander High School graduates is having their annual fundraiser to help graduates at the school get scholarship money.

George DeMet is on the board of the Clambake Society Scholarship. He says the group is composed of mostly 1990's Rhinelander High School graduates who are looking to give back to the school...

"....the way that we've decided to give back as a group is to give out a scholarship that we give out every year. The goal of our scholarship is to give the award to a graduate of Rhinelander High School who we feel shows a lot of potential..."

DeMet says this scholarship is unique...

"...It's a very unusual kind of scholarship. It's different than most of the other scholarships that are given that are given to graduating seniors. We ask a lot of open-ended questions...."

DeMet says there are graduates in the group from all over the nation. They're selling tickets now and they're holding a raffle drawing Saturday, March 5 at the Haven in Rhinelander as a fundraiser for the scholarship. Grand prize is a trip to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, along with other prizes of a cruise, a trip to Colorado and more. Only 100 tickets will be sold.

DeMet says scholarship applications are available at the guidance office at Rhinelander High School.
