An advisory referendum will be on the ballot April 7 in Rhinelander as voters will let city government know their feelings on the Premier Resort Area Tax. The half-cent on a dollar sales tax would be used by the city for infrastructure maintenance.

WXPR's Ken Krall spoke with Mayor Dick Johns, City Administrator Blaine Oborn, Public Works Director Tim Kingman and Tony Gilman about why the city feels there is a need and how the money would be used.

Also interviewed were Eagle River Mayor Jeff Hyslop and City Administrator Joe Laux. Eagle River has implemented this tax since 2006.
