A Rhinelander man was captured early Thursday afternoon after being sought by at least two county sheriff's departments for allegedly pepper spraying a Lincoln county sheriff's deputy.
27 year old Steven Morris of Rhinelander was driving a car early Thursday morning on Lincoln county "A" and Highway 51 near Tomahawk. A deputy pulled Morris over to question him. During the stop, Morris took off on foot and the deputy and him fought. Morris is reported to have allegedly pepper sprayed the deputy then fled again.
Oneida County sent deputies in mutual aid to support Lincoln county and other law enforcement agencies.
Internet court records indicate Morris is wanted by Oneida county on several felony charges, The warrants were issued in mid-June.
