The heavy rain this week caused some problems on Oneida county roads.

Highway Commissioner Bruce Stefonik says a main artery west of Rhinelander was shut down for several hours...

".....the worst we had was on county "K". We knew we had a culvert that was not in the best condition but with all the rain we ended up losing that culvert. We had to shut county 'K' down and replace it...."

There was one report of six inches of rain, but several reports of more than 4 inches were reported. Stefonik says the main problem is washouts along the shoulders of roads....

"....we just had the problem with the one culvert. The shoulder erosion is where we're having the most problem and some driveway culverts..."

He says crews have been busy fixing the damage. He says if someone wants to report a problem they should contact the Oneida County Highway Commissioner's office.
