Crandon Woman Sentenced To Federal Prison

A Crandon woman has been sentenced to federal prison for her role in an alleged drug trafficking ring.

40 year old Diana F. Alvarado was sentenced to more than 2 years in prison and 5 years of extended supervision after release.

Several law enforcement agencies investigated methamphetamine and prescription drug ring in Forest county and arrests were made last August.

While Alvarado was sentenced on federal charges, she also faces similar charges in state court and will appear next month in Forest County Court

. In February, 43-year- old Tony Quintana of Wausau got 10-years in federal prison on methamphetamine charges, to be followed by 10 years of extended supervision. 39-year- old Karen Quintana of Wausau received a 2 year federal prison sentence.

In February, 26-year-old Kole McGeshick of Crandon was sentenced to 3 years in state prison.
