Wisconsin Rural Partners

A statewide group designed to help rural Wisconsin residents is hosting it's annual meeting meeting later this month with focus on the next generation.

Don Sidlowski of Three Lakes is President of the Board of Directors of Wisconsin Rural Partners. He says traditionally the focus has been on what is the future...but this conference is going to focus on who is the future....

"....this year's focus for this year's annual Rural Summit is on young professionals and the things that engage them and interest them about the rural parts of Wisconsin. So the various breakout sessions are going to be geared toward developing young leadership, how young professionals work in the rural parts of our state and so forth...."

Sidlowski says a young leader will be featured...

".....one of the sessions is going to be led by Rep. Romaine Quinn about developing young leaders. Rep. Quinn was elected to office at the age of 19 in Rice Lake where he's from, so he's a great role model for those young people who aspire to elected office at an early age...."

Wisconsin Rural Partners is the state-designated body to carry out the provisions of the U.S. Farm Bill at the local level. Wisconsin Rural Partners has helped many communities with items like design planning to running seminars with local issues.

The meeting titled " Who is the Future of Rural Wisconsin" is April 19-20 at the Heidel House Resort in Green Lake.
