Deputy Kills Wanted Man In Forest County

A man said to be wanted on felony warrants from Texas was shot and killed Thursday morning near Crandon.

WJFW TV is reporting state Department of Justice officials report the suspect allegedly pointed a shotgun at the deputy after the deputy ran a record check after the deputy found the suspect's disabled vehicle. As the deputy approached the vehicle, the man pulled out a shotgun. The deputy responded by shooting and killing the man. The shooting happened just south of Crandon in the town of Nashville.

The deputy wasn't injured. Both men have not been identified. The shooting happened around 9 a.m.
