There's a program in the Northwoods seeking low-income seniors to get paid while you work for local non-profit organizations.
The program is funded through the U.S. Department of Labor and is called the Senior Community Service Employment Program.

"...The program offers paid job training for seniors over the age of 55 that are low income and unemployed. It's available to anybody in the state of Wisconsin. The counties I cover are Florence, Forest, Iron, Langlade, Marinette, Oconto, Oneida, Price and Vilas..."
He outlines examples of people who fit into the program..
"...It is typically used by people trying to get back into the workforce after a long period of unemployment or retirement. It can be used by somebody who has sustained an injury and can no longer continue with their chosen career path they are already in..."
He says there are jobs available...
"..We currently have over 60 available positions throughout the counties. It doesn't matter what town you live in, any town qualifies, and the pay does not affect subsidized housing or food share benefits...."
Tucker says the jobs are at any government agency or not-for-profit organization. He says there's a wide range of jobs available and the employer doesn't pay to have the person work there, including things like workers compensation which is paid by the program.
