More than 65 million family caregivers in America provide a long list of free service each day.

An upcoming series is designed to help caregivers take care of themselves, along with their loved one. The Aging and Disability Resource Centers of Oneida and Vilas counties are co-sponsoring 'Powerful Tools For Caregivers' in Three Lakes beginning this month.

One of the presenters is Jennifer Sackett, an ADRC specialist. She describes what the six-part series will do for caregivers...

"...It takes a lot from the person doing the caregiving to spend so much time and worrying about the person they're caring for. It takes an emotional toll on you. It's something that is really good to learn to care for yourself so you can take better care of the loved one..."

The program is six-2 hour sessions held once per week. Sackett says interactive lessons and discussion highlight the programs. Sessions are set for every Monday for six weeks beginning October 21. Classes will be held at the Demmer Library in Three Lakes from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.

More information is available at the ADRC of Oneida County(715-369-6170).
