COVID-19 cases slowly rising in Wisconsin

COVID-19 cases are starting to rise again in Wisconsin.

This is following a national trend as we see a new variant of COVID starting to circulate.

Right now, the state is averaging 762 new cases a day.

Two weeks ago, that number was 437.

CDC COVID community levels are still low in every county in Wisconsin.

At that level the CDC recommends you stay up to date on your COVID vaccines and get tested if you have COVID symptoms.

The CDC community guidelines are largely based on hospital levels.

The number of daily hospitalizations due to COVID in the state are still dropping slightly.

Wisconsin Hospital Association data shows 136 people hospitalized with COVID as of Tuesday.

Two weeks ago, 157 people were hospitalized because of the virus.
