Bitter cold causes school closings and delays

Bitterly cold temperatures have caused many northern Wisconsin school districts to close.

Others are operating a delayed schedule, or offering virtual classes today.

A wind chill advisory is in effect until noon, with air temperatures near 25 below at 6:00 a.m.

A list of local closures and delays is below:

Rhinelander School District closed

Northland Pines School District, closed but virtual for grades 7 – 12

Three Lakes School District closed

Crandon Schools closed

Tomahawk School District closed

Phelps School District closed

Wabeno School District closed

Phillips School District, closed but will have a virtual learning day

Prentice School District closed

White Lake School District closed

Florence School district, 2-hour delay

Goodman-Armstrong Creek School District, 2-hour delay

Mercer School district, 2 hour delay
