Trees For Tomorrow "Forest Fest" Is Saturday

Trees For Tomorrow Eagle River

"We hope you come out and find out why we call it the best fest in the Midwest "

That's Chantel Kuczmarski, Community Engagement Coordinator for Trees For Tomorrow in Eagle River.  She's talking about Trees For Tomorrow's Forest Fest going on Saturday(7/28).

She says the event highlights what sustainable forestry means...

"....Forest Fest is a fun, free, family event that celebrates all the forest has to offer. Saturday, July 28, attendees will learn learn about the heritage and legacy of Wisconsin's timber industry and sustainable modern day techniques and equipment through demonstrations and hands-on activities. Our programs will focus on sustainable management of our natural resources, including wood harvesting, wood products, wilderness, wildlife, water quality, recreation and more...."

Kuczmarski says the goal is to educate the public about all of the products we enjoy and rely on that come from our forests. She says the event features logging equipment demonstrations, a lumberjack breakfast, arts, craft and food vendors, exhibits, horse-drawn wagon rides, children’s activities, chainsaw carving, papermaking, historical logging equipment, and more. The event is held on the Trees For Tomorrow campus in Eagle River.

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. More information is on the Trees For Tomorrow website.
