Rhinelander Hosts Holiday Parade Saturday

Max Pixel FreeGreatPicture.com

While most communities are getting into the holiday spirit, Rhinelander makes it official this Saturday.

Lauren Sackett of the Rhinelander Chamber of Commerce tells us about the annual Christmas Parade and Tree Lighting downtown...

"....the parade starts at 5:00 p.m. and runs down Brown St. to King Street up Stevens to Stevensport Square(downtown). We'll have the parade and then the tree lighting ceremony. Santa and Mrs. Claus will be there along with a city alderman. They will be there to officially kick off the holiday season with the lighting of the tree...."

This year's theme is "Celebrating Holiday Movies". Parade participants are encouraged to focus their floats on a favorite holiday movie. There is no entry fee. Prizes will be awarded in a group.

The Rhinelander Masonic Lodge will be open through the evening, with holiday refreshments and music from the Rhinelander Community Band. More information is at the Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce.
