A major fire in Ironwood has killed one person.
WIMI radio reports Ironwood Public Safety says one person has died in the fire at 102 E. Aurora Street, and further injuries are still being investigated. The fire call was said to have come in after 2:00 a.m. and one building is said to have collapsed.
Fire Wednesday morning also destroyed a machinery shop Wednesday morning. The fire was on county highway “D” west of Sugar Camp in Oneida county.
WJFW TV reported seven local fire departments responded with firefighters, tankers, and ladder trucks. The cause of the fire was not immediately known, but the fire was fueled by tanks of diesel fuel. No injuries were reported.
