Evers Decision On 'Safer-At-Home' Extension Affects Rhinelander Schools

School District of Rhinelander

Governor Evers decision to extend the 'Safer-At-Home' order until May 26 has given local school districts a chance to consider their future options. One of them is the School District of Rhinelander.

In a press release, Superintendent Kelli Jacobi says the district will continue the 'Remote Learning Plan' through the rest of the year. She says she will be asking the school board to change the last day of instruction of May 29. She says that would give families time to return work, materials and Chromebooks. Jacobi says they will come up with a plan to limit the number of people in the buildings.

She says she will be taking a plan to the school board next week that continues the current plan. Jacobi says the will continue with food distribution as well. She says she is planning to cancel the traditional summer school program normally held in June.

Jacobi says they're working on a plan for graduation.
