Martinson Enters Guilty Pleas To Lesser Homicide Charges

Boone County Sheriff's Department

A Rhinelander area teenager has entered a plea to amended homicide charges in Oneida County Court.

"Guilty".

18 year old Ashlee Martinson entered that plea Friday morning before Judge Michael Bloom.

Martinson agreed to plead guilty to reduced charges of second degree intentional homicide for the March, 2015 deaths of Jennifer and Thomas Ayers, her mother and stepfather, in their town of Piehl home.

Three charges of false imprisonment also were dropped in the plea. She had been charged with first-degree intentional homicide.

Martinson was found in Indiana shortly after the killings and was extradicted to Oneida county to face murder charges.

The state will be recommending 40 years in prison for the deaths, while the defense is recommending 8 years in prison.

In lengthy court documents made public, a long history of abuse within the Ayers home is alleged.

Judge Bloom said the facts on the record would give a person of conscience some sympathy for the situation Martinson found herself.

Judge Bloom accepted Martinson's plea and set a day-long sentencing date of June 17.
