The Eagle River Area Fire department is planning a second full service fire station to serve the municipalities of Eagle River and the towns of Cloverland, Lincoln, and Washington and received support for borrowing $225,000 to finish a recently built facility.

In a presentation to the Eagle River city council, fire department chairman Steve Burr indicated they received a donation of five acres from the town of Washington on Range Line Road where they have a building originally planned for storage of equipment and training. “We would like to upgrade it to a full service fire station but we need to fininsh it off inside,” Burr told the council. “We're asking for joint loan support from our member municipalities.”

Burr said the town of Cloverland has approved participation with Lincoln meeting that evening. After answering several questions about the location, the city council approved participation contingent on the other three also approving.
