Vilas County Clerk Dave Alleman handed out results of a survey of all 21 Vilas County board members seeking advice about hiring a county administrator.
The Vilas county board this week showed little support. Alleman indicated county board chairman Ron DeBruyne requested he ask all board members: Do you favor establishing the position of a County Administrator?
15 supervisors reponded according to the information provided at the county board meeting on Tuesday.
There were two supervisors who favored establishing the position and one supervisor favoring the position if several other specific conditions were met.
Two supervisors were undecided and ten supervisors were opposed to establishing the position. Six did not respond by last Monday.
The cost of the position could be over $100,000 in salary alone, according to information Alleman gathered from 18 counties with a county administrator, with Lincoln County the only one under at $98,000.
