An apparent drowning death was reported Saturday by the Vilas County Sheriff's Department.
A report came into dispatch about 11:00 p.m. Friday that a man had not returned from fishing on Lac Vieux Desert lake.
The man had left about 7:30 p.m.
Deputies found the man's empty boat. A search of the lake by several agencies found the man's body about 8:00 a.m.
An investigation into the death is continuing.
Official's stressed the need to wear a life jacket at all times when on the water. The name of the victim will be released later.
