(Shawano, WI) -- Authorities in Shawano County say an eight-year-old boy managed to escape his home in Eland and sneak away.
Strangers picked him up and called the police. His father was arrested after the boy told investigators he had to sit in a chair in the basement for the last two nights.
Thirty-six-year-old Nathan Pogrant faces a dozen charges, including false imprisonment, physical abuse of a child and causing mental harm to a child.
The father allegedly told the boy he would break his fingers if he stole more food.
