The YMCA of the Northwoods is hosting a one-day event Tuesday designed to keep its services coming to this area.
CEO Ryan Zietlow outlines the 'Day of Giving...
"It's an opportunity for the 'Y' to begin to educate and share with our community that the 'Y' is a non-profit organization that's here to serve the greatest needs that we have. It gives us a day to highlight what is going on and gear towards sharing with those here how important it is to support your YMCA..."
Zietlow says last year the YMCA was able to provide assistance over $130,000 to those in need. He says Tuesday they will have a number of activities geared toward providing education to the public about what the 'Y' does and how donations can help impact the Northwoods. He talks about the financial goal of the day...
"We are setting the goal for the Day of Giving at $3,500 which would allow us to provide support to provide support to children and families throughout our community. Tuesday, March 3 kicks off our annual support campaign for the entire 2020 year. While we're looking to raise $3,500 on March 3, our ultimate goal is to raise $129,000 in support throughout the course of this year..."
