High praise for the Townline Lake Boat landing in Three Lakes.
The States Organization for Boating Access presented the 2014 Outstanding Project Award to Three Lakes for the reconstructed landing on Maple Lake Dam Road.
The project included construction of a new launch ramp, replacement of the existing non-conforming dock, expansion of the number of parking stalls from 7 to 16, compliance with Americans with Disabilities Act standards and installation of riprap and erosion control practices.
MSA Professional Services in Rhinelander did the engineering and site work. Spokesperson Jim Bollman says the award is the result of groups working together...
"...between the Three Lakes Fish and Wildlife Improvement Association, the town of Three Lakes who was the sponsor, and the last party who deserves credit, Wisconsin Valley Improvement Association. The four groups together were responsible for coming up with the funding, construction and knowledge to put the project together...."
The ramp is one of the main access points to the Three Lakes Chain of Lakes. The boat ramp, which cost $190,432 to design and build, was constructed under DNR guidelines, based on the States Organization for Boating Access recommendations.
