Three Lakes Survey To Shape Future Of Town

Forward Three Lakes

The public has until the end of the month to help inform the the future of the Town of Three Lakes.

In conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Extension’s Design Wisconsin Team, Forward Three Lakes is a three-month initiative. The effort debuted recently with a Facebook Live session and continues with the public input survey.

UW-Extension's Myles Alexander says the Design Wisconsin program is done in-person, but the COVID outbreak changed that. But he says the survey is the first major public contact toward finding what the community's vision is for the future.

He says the survey has been used in other Design Wisconsin cities...

"The questions in the survey are to get a sense of how people see Three Lakes now and what they hope to see in the future...."

Alexander says the online survey takes about 15 minutes to complete at the Forward Three Lakes website and Facebook page. Those without internet access can get paper copies at the town hall during regular hours.

Computers are available at the Demmer Library during the current hours Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, and Wi-Fi is available outside the library.

Alexander says they want young people to get involved...

"This week we'll also be opening a children's drawing survey. That's an opportunity for children entering grades 3-6 to answer the question..'what would make Three Lakes an even better place to live?'..."

The children will draw pictures of what they would like to see. Photographers are also invited to upload photos in response to questions. The survey will close August 30.
