COVID-19 Information Available Through 2-1-1 System

2-1-1.org

Oneida County Emergency Management says there's a free source of information during the COVID crisis.

The 2-1-1 system is established in the U.S. and Canada and has offices in Wisconsin. By dialing 211, those in need of assistance can be referred, and sometimes connected, to appropriate agencies and community organizations says spokesperson Dawn Robinson of Oneida County Emergency Management...

"211 has the information on the different resources you can tap into. Especially during this time, 211 can assist with man made or natural disasters and public emergencies..."

The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dialing 2-1-1 helps direct callers to services for, among others, the elderly, the disabled, those who do not speak English, those with a personal crisis, those with limited reading skills, and those who are new to their communities.

2-1-1 is available to about 309 million people, or 95 percent of the total U.S. population. 211 covers all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.
