WAUSAU, WI (WSAU) -- Funeral services have been set for a longtime central Wisconsin newsman who died last weekend after a battle with stomach cancer.

According to Waid Funeral and Cremation Services, a Celebration of Life for Glen Moberg will be held Saturday, September 21st at 11 AM at Wausau's First Universalist Unitarian Church. Visitation for Moberg will be held one hour before the service at the Church.

Moberg died last weekend at the age of 67 following a short battle with an aggressive, inoperable form of stomach cancer. He announced the diagnosis on Facebook in December of 2018, saying doctors gave him a few months to a year to live. He then retired from Wisconsin Public Radio in February, where he had been the longtime host of the culture and public affairs program Route 51.

Before his time with WPR, Moberg had served as a news anchor and producer for both WAOW and WSAW TV in Wausau. Since news of his death broke on Sunday, Moberg has been remembered as a gentle, caring person with a passion for telling stories and making music. He is survived by his wife and two children.
