Body Pulled From The Water In Wausau

(Update 9/01 10:15 a.m.):   The Wausua Police Department has confirmed it was a man they pulled from the river.  They are working to identify him. 

Police say foul play is not suspected, but it cannot be ruled out at this time.

A body has been pulled from the water in Wausau.

According to Facebook post from the Wausau Police Department, officers were sent to the Wausau Hydro Dam at 601 South 1st Avenue for a report of a body in the water.  The call came in around 1:20 p.m. Monday.  The report came from an employee of Wisconsin Public Service.

Police confirmed the person was dead, but didn’t say much more.  The investigation into the death is still underway.
