Hotel Plans Moving Forward in Mosinee

Mosinee Website

Despite a down year for travel and tourism Cobblestone Hotels will push forward with plans to build a new property in Mosinee beginning sometime in 2021.

Mosinee Mayor Brent Jacobson says investors are still lining up to put money into the project.

“It’s not just about investing in a hotel.  They’re investing in our community.  They’re certainly not from the community, but when they came through Mosinee for the first time they just couldn’t comment enough on how impressed they were with the activity that’s been going on”

Jacobson says plans for the property came together in part because of traffic generated by the Central Wisconsin Airport.

He says the city's revamped downtown has also been a draw.

“As a result of that, they’re interested in continuing discussions after the first of the year”

Cobblestone Hotels is also moving forward with plans to build in other small-to-mid-sized midwestern markets like Grand Chute and International Falls, Minnesota.
