Forward Three Lakes Begins 3 Month Effort To Shape Town's Future

Wikimedia Commons Royalbroil

Three Lakes has launched a community-wide effort to determine how to best move the town forward.

In conjunction with the University of Wisconsin-Extension’s Design Wisconsin Team, " Forward Three Lakes" is a three-month initiative to help design the future of the community.

John Stauner of the Three Lakes Community Foundation says they spearheaded the project....

"It's basically about the community coming together and talking about the future and what we want in our community and coming up with a shared vision of that future...."

Stauner says they hope to develop action plans including economic development, town beautification, affordable housing, continued successful schools, the environment and much more.

He says the goal is not to just talk about it...

"It's an opportunity for us to break down silos in the community. It's an opportunity to take a step back, discuss ideas. Most importantly this isn't just about talk. It's about taking ideas and putting them into action..."

All those interested in the future of Three Lakes are invited to go to “Forward Three Lakes, WI” on Facebook or the Forward Three Lakes webpage.

A recording of Thursday night's program is available.

In addition to the virtual kick-off, Forward Three Lakes will host an information booth at the town’s annual Art on Main event on Saturday in downtown Three Lakes.
