Closings

 

WXPR Public Radio in Rhinelander is committed to partnering with the local community to respond to the COVID-19 outbreak.  As a broadcaster, WXPR is in a position to spread information to a large audience on-air and online.  If your organization has information that should be shared with the community, please be in touch with WXPR, and we'll see to it that it's distributed appropriately.  Are you closing or suspending services?  Have a special need for volunteers during this time?  Need to communicate a message about your programs?  WXPR can help spread the word.  Please email Ben Meyer at ben@wxpr.org with any announcements or notifications.

All K-12 schools in Wisconsin will close starting Wednesday, March 18th. The state anticipates reopening schools on Apr. 6, but that date is subject to change.

Community Closings

The following is a list of community closing and delay information that has been provided to WXPR. If your organization is not showing WXPR has not been notified.

All WXPR events have been cancelled through April 6. This includes Darrell Scott, In Progress, and Joseph Huber.

The Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce has cancelled the March 21 RACC Business Showcase at Rhinelander High School.

Minocqua Public Libraray will be closed started Monday, March 16th.

Rhinelander District Library will be closed until further notice. 

Tomahawk Public Library will be closed until April 6th. Reopening date is subject to change.

Services, gatherings, and activities at Rhinelander First Congregational United Church of Christ have been cancelled through at least April 10.

The free Tax Preparation services provided at AARP Foundation Tax-Aid sites are now suspended until further notice. This includes all appointments at the Rhinelander site which provided services at the ADRC of Oneida County. 

Potawatomi Carter Casino Hotel will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday until further notice to protect the health of employees and customers.

Marshfield Clinic Family Health Center dental clinics are closed until further notice.

Aside from childcare offerings, the YMCA of the Northwoods is closed until further notice.

The lobbies at the Oneida County Sheriff's Office and Rhinelander Police Department are closed.

Classes at Nicolet College are suspended through Sunday, March 22.  Starting Monday, March 23, all classes for the remainder of the spring semester will be conducted online.  All Nicolet College events through Apr. 24 are cancelled, and all gatherings with an anticipated attendance of more than 50 people are cancelled through May 11.

Public libraries in Rhinelander, Minocqua, Three Lakes, and Tomahawk are closed.

Marshfield Clinic's Alcohol and Drug Recovery buildings are closed.  Services remain available via phone.

Marshfield Clinic has cancelled its April 20 open house of the new hospital in Minocqua.

Habitat for Humanity Restores in both Rhinelander and Land O Lakes are now closed til April 6th.
 
The Friends of the Rhinelander District Library's used book store, The Re-Tale Shop  will be closed for the rest of March.  We will re-open again when the library opens.
