A colorful igloo has become a tourist attraction in Tomahawk.

Michelle and Brian Arnott decided last month to build a rainbow igloo.

Over the course of 10 days, they froze 400 blocks of ice all dyed with food coloring to construct the 5-foot-8 structure.

When the sun shines through the ice, the colors shine.

Residents in and around Tomahawk were amazed by the igloo.

So over the weekend, the Arnotts opened up their front yard for people to check out the igloo’s inside.

Visitors say it’s pretty cool, but Michelle is already thinking about next year’s design.

"I would definitely do it different with a different color scheme,” she says. “Where the entrance is, I would like to turn that into a tunnel leading to another one (igloo) so we can have different rooms."

The Arnotts don’t know yet when they’ll take the igloo down, but they say they are amazed by the community outreach they’ve received.
