Bobby Bullet- Submitted Biography:
Bobby Bullet is to Indian Country, what Hank Williams is to country music- a legend. Bobby’s singer/songwriter career began over 60 years ago at the ripe age of ten. Since then, he has written over 300 songs.
Bobby is a member of the Lac du Flambeau Band of Lake Superior Chippewa in northern Wisconsin, whose thoughtful and humorous story songs bring to light broken treaties, genocide, injustice to all peoples, and love of nature. As a multi-nominated Native American Music Award (NAMA) singer/ songwriter and producer, Bobby dedicates his performances to environmental issues and social causes.
In 2010 the Native American Music Association honored Bobby with their “Lifetime Achievement Award” during the 12th Annual Native American Music Awards held at the Seneca Niagara Casino in Niagara Falls, New York. Bobby is also the recipient of a 2010-11 Folk Arts Apprenticeship “Master of Traditions Songwriter Mentorship” program grant from the Wisconsin Arts Board. In 2014, the Indian Summer Music Awards honored him with its Lifetime Achievement Award in Milwaukee, WI.
In 2013, the Native Arts and Cultures Foundation awarded Bobby a Music Fellowship providing him with an opportunity to listen to elder’s stories, give voice to abused women and provide learning experiences for all participants. Bobby’s 2014 Justice In Time album honors the music fellowship’s opportunities.
