Dean S. Acheson photo

Staff from the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce stand in honor as some of the 50 or so fire trucks, ambulances, police cars and other emergency vehicles pass by. The vehicles were part of the large procession that came from Wausau to Woodruff on U.S. Highway 51 to honor medic Gregory Rosenthal, who died, along with the pilot, Rico Caruso, and one other medic, Klint Mitchell, in the crash of the Spirit Air medical helicopter April 26 in the town of Woodruff. Services for Rosenthal were held that afternoon at Nimsgern Funeral and Cremation Services in Woodruff.

The large U.S. Flag held aloft by the St. Germain and Eagle River fire departments’ ladder trucks on U.S. Highway 51 near the funeral home was in honor of all three men.
