WXPR's Jessie Dick Recognized Among 10 Under 40 Leaders

Celebrating Rhinelander young adults making a difference, Forward Rhinelander has selected its first-ever honorees for Top 10 Under 40 recognition.

Forward Rhinelander received more than 50 nominations highlighting the many people serving their community.

A spokesperson for the group says the move is to change perception. Forward Rhinelander's Melinda Childs says in an area with a large senior demographic, they want to show there are younger people making a difference...

"...Forward Rhinelander has been around for a few years and one of the primary functions of the community group, they're trying to raise awareness about all the great things about Rhinelander. How we can market ourselves to the community around us and those who want to move a business or residence here...."

She says a key component in the selection were young professionals giving back to the community....

"...the young people that are here are very passionate, they're very involved, they enjoy living here because they have the opportunity to give something back to their community in a really meaningful way. You don't always have that opportunity in a bigger city...."

Among the ten people honored is WXPR Station Manager Jessie Dick, WJFW Managing Editor Ben Meyer, Dwight Webb, Brandon Karaba, Tarsie Goes, Jen and Josh Clark, Brett Aylesworth, Mike Cheslock and Matthew Whalen. The selection panel included Rhinelander Mayor Chris Frederickson, Rhinelander Area Chamber of Commerce Director Maggie Steffen, and Oneida County Economic Development Corporation Director Stacey Johnson.
