A Northwoods homeless shelter is looking for donors to help keep the shelter providing services to those in need. Toward the end of each year many non-profits ask for support.

Northwoods Alliance For Temporary Housing, or NATH, operates Frederick Place homeless shelter in Rhinelander.

Executive Director Tammy Modic says they're hoping 200 people in each of five counties will step forward...

"To attempt to get 1000 people to pledge and donate $100 a year. We have just under an annual $300,000 operating budget. If we could get 1,000 people to commit to that $100, we'd have just over a third of our annual operating budget where we would know where it was coming from every year..."

Tammy Modic says the donations are used for essential daily services... "

"10 days of gas an electricity to help keep the lights on and the house warm. It might be 10 days of phone and internet so that our residents have the ability to search for jobs, search for housing...they're not glamorous things. But if it wasn't for these things we wouldn't be able to support those experiencing homelessness..."

NATH provides services for the homeless in Oneida, Vilas, Forest, Lincoln and Langlade counties. More information on NATH, their services and the campaign is at nathnorthwoods.com
