Art Fest Online Opens Virtually For Professional Artists And Others

Art Fest online.com

The pandemic has severely cut the income possibilities for artists, who often find a place to show and sell their work in public places, now nearly entirely closed. Beginning Friday, a collaboration between Nate Sheppard Media, Nicolet College and ArtStart offers 'Art Fest Online'.

The event includes a platform and potential income for artists while developer Nate Sheppard says giving the public an option to view and become involved in their creativity...

"We're already working with a number of professional artists to provide interesting virtual classes and performances for you but we'll also be hosting art activities and contest for anyone to participate in..."

Sheppard says this is a good time to create art as it's part of what makes us human. He says Artfest Online is not set up like other virtual offerings, which he says are exploding across the internet.

In a phone interview, Sheppard says a key component is having artists get paid through the project...

"We're really excited to be able to pay every artist that is doing something for this on a professional level. All of our teachers and performers and some of the other activity organizers are getting checks as part of this. They're all being paid..."

Sheppard hopes the public will jump in and do art, possibly something they've never done before.

Art Fest Online runs from Friday, May 15 to Sunday May 24. Sheppard says you are welcome to attend and all events are free.
