Rhinelander Woman's Club Seeking Organizations To Fund

Rhinelander Woman's Club Facebook

During the last 10 years the GFWC Rhinelander Woman's Club has contributed more than $380,000 to community organizations and projects and they're seeking qualified organizations for another round of grant funding.

The club was organized in 1898. Twenty women interested in study, fellowship, and improving the city formed the club. Its first project involved purchasing 300 books for the city’s first library.

Club spokesperson Sue Bessert says they can help if there's an idea to support...

"One time a year we can receive requests for local projects that non-profits, groups that have a really cool project and would like some help in getting it funded...our club will support that..."

Bessert says submit an application in the form of a letter on organization letterhead with the name of the organization, its mission and proposed project or program including amount of requested funds, along with name, address and phone of a contact person. The deadline is July 15.

Bessert says they focus on key areas...

"We look for projects in the areas of art and culture, the environment, education and libraries, health and wellness, civic engagement and outreach..."

Applications must be mailed via the Post Office to: GFWC Rhinelander Woman’s Club, P.O. Box 272; Rhinelander 54501.
