Mechanics in central Wisconsin see some parts shortages

WAOW Television

Auto part shortages are affecting mechanics in central Wisconsin, which could mean higher costs and longer wait times for repairs.

Management at Stolze's Wausau Auto Repair say the issue at hand is due to backups in the supply chain, though they claim they haven't had it as bad as other industries.

Specifically, they've had trouble finding brake parts at their normal price and have had items on backorder for a month.

Alongside the issues, owner Bob Stolze says they've had to do their best to adapt.

"We've been doing okay, it's just you get kind of creative, you make calls that you normally didn't have to make and try to find parts here and there to make sure you get the customer taken care of," he said.

In the meantime, if you have an issue, Stolze recommends calling your mechanic ahead of time to see if they are able to help fit your needs.
